I was initially contemplating to start in medium but luckily (or unfortunately), I couldn’t sign up despite multiple attempts. I came back here knowing fully well that they charge usurious amounts to allow plugins. (If I could install them, I’d be able to host the PDF’s myself here- I’ll look into it again).
I agree with the author- short and sweet. It is hard to win the attention!
Now the big question: continue publishing with Medium or move elsewhere? While I support Medium’s quest to become a sustainable business, I don’t like how they are going about it. Every time I publish a post I’m offered a check box, checked by default, that means, “People who haven’t paid Medium may not be able to see this.” Since my goal is to make my writing as widely available as possible, I always uncheck this box.
