There are a number of blog posts around this topic and a very interesting Hacker news discussion around the same. I don’t blindly subscribe to the exhortations, but here’s still an interesting take.
Push out your unique narratives. Once in a while I plan and write long form narratives. I prefer to add my commentary on what’s been written by others and gain in a refined point of view. I schedule my write ups which allows me a downtime when I need it.

I’ll recommend an excellent series here and I’d paraphrase the essential components:
…Common obstacles to writing…
…1. You don’t know why to write or create stuff…
…2. You don’t know what to write about…
…Create a consistent writing schedule…
…I committed to a daily writing schedule at first, which was hard but it helped me get out of my rut….
…Back then I was writing shorter posts, which I’ve traded for longer thought pieces once a week….
…Overcome writing procrastination…
…“I don’t have time to write.”…
…“I don’t know what to write about.”…
…I only want to write if I have something unique to say.”…
Happy writing!
