Preparing for opportunities

This is a fascinating post by Joseph Jude:

You have to be ready when the opportunity knocks

The unprepared can’t even recognize an opportunity. Even if they get a breakthrough by chance, they do not execute with the required rigor because they do not have necessary support systems. The opportunity slips through the cracks.

From the write-up

I like this generalisation. This sets up a virtuous fly cycle to spot mega-trends before they appear as products. Blogging (and extensive reading) will set you on this path. You can get a generous view about the “future” and “predict trends” if and when they would appear. Existing ideas (and processes) will get a massive radical overhaul. I have no one else but to thank myself to get into this privileged position-merely by blogging everyday and forming a consistent habit. That’s why I am encouraging others to do the same. Content consumption doesn’t make us smart. Its the way we write brings about a deeper understanding about it.

Start blogging.
