Differential versions of privacy

Siddharth V writes:

For example, a 2019 pilot scheme in the UK, run by the Open Data Institute in collaboration with the Greater London Authority and Royal Borough of Greenwich, studied how sharing city data — such as the energy efficiency of social housing — could improve the south London community. And, in a report last December, a committee of experts appointed by the Indian government also proposed a “community right over non-personal data”, involving data trusts.

These are interesting ideas articulated in the linked write up. For example, the western concept of privacy is related to the idea of an individual, while the eastern concept doesn’t recognise the concept of individualism. There has been an insufficient research on the “Indian idea” of privacy, because it would have a profound impact on the AI adoption. and the subsequent roll out of the AI in the healthcare.

I have attached the video taken from the linked article- it has substantial points and is a useful summary of the ideas. I hope you find them useful.
